The USA Network celebrated their 2nd annual Character Approved Awards in February 2010, honoring artists, entrepreneurs, and innovators at the forefront of modern culture.
The gala event was held at Frank Gehry's IAC building on the west side of Manhattan, and L&C was asked to create a massive video installation for the space. This particular building just happens to be home to the highest resolution video wall in the entire world, so we jumped at the opportunity to work on a 21-million pixel canvas.
A two-day super slow motion shoot with a Phantom camera provided more than enough material to composite the 6 minute video piece. Honorees included Kathryn Bigelow, Kehinde Wiley, and Green Day. Somebody even thought they saw Jeff Goldblum!
