Fear Breaks Record...

Fear the Walking Dead Teaser by Leroy and Clarkson

Fear the Walking Dead Teaser by Leroy and Clarkson

Which show premiere has the highest rating in the cable channel's history?

AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead" had a record total viewers and all key Nielsen Live+3 ratings averaging 11.2 million viewer, 7.2 million of which were in the 25-54 age group.

"When we set out to launch a companion series to the #1 show on television, there were truly many things to fear, beyond 'Fear" itself," said Charlie Collier, president of AMC, Sundance TV and AMC Studios. "To see this show stand alone, break through and set records as a unique piece of storytelling is very gratifying and a tribute to great creative talent."

Kudos to FTWD and we're "walking" forward to the next season.

Traffic is at a Dead Stop on Northbound 405, Start Walking...

We hope you were prepared to Fear the Walking Dead.

AMC wanted us to capture the feeling of real world anxiety to generate viewer excitement and entice fans of The Walking Dead to become Fear the Walking Dead super fans.

The team at L&C developed a campaign to tease before the Summer premiere. Shot in Los Angeles, we produced three different scenarios looming with suspense, giving the viewer a sense that something is about to go horribly wrong.

True to the horror genre we let sound design play a big roll in the narrative. Environmental sound design and a dramatic score subtly ramp up to an unnerving pitch to reveal the Walker, creating tension and suspense.

Premiered August 23rd, 2015 on AMC

Upfront and Immersive

NBCUniversal upfront 2015

When we got the call from NBCUniversal to work on the 2015 Upfront, only two things were certain: The event needed to be bigger than the 2014 Upfront we did with them last year and it needed to deliver start-to-finish in less than 6 weeks.

And by big, we mean a massive 180-degree, 13 screen immersive video projection at the Jacob Javitz Center.

With every showcase for the 7 networks, we weren’t just exploding graphics and giant typography across all screens, but constructing open spaces where the audience could get lost in a landscape or an abstract field of data.

The goal was to show off the new direction of audience engagement, to introduce the audience benefits, and to demonstrate the most relevant, immersive and engaging data-driven programming.

L&C was able to communicate the NBCU's brand position, the shift from a traditional media company to a technology driven company, visualizing the heart of the data and creating an immersive experience that stands apart from all other upfronts – the WOW factor.

It was exciting to move the audience's attention around all of the screens, but also to allow it to focus on singular images that become larger than life, really filling up the space, synching with music and creating an altogether mystifying night to remember
